Priyanka Chopra to present Oscar Awards

The actress has become the first Indian to present an Oscar in the history of Academy Awards.

There’s no stopping Priyanka Chopra. After grabbing a trophy at ‘People’s Choice Award’ and presenting ‘SAG Awards’, this desi girl will give her most stellar performance till date. Yes, she will be presenting an Oscar. Alongside names like Reese Witherspoon, Julianne Moore, Steve Carell, Quincy Jones, Jared Leto and a host of other international stars, PeeCee has been selected as a presenter at the upcoming 88th Academy Awards. Retweeting the announcement from the Oscars handle, Chopra said, “Looking forward @TheAcademy !! This will be an insaaaane night! (sic)”

Priyanka has already made waves with her performances as singer and actor in the international arena. After her single ‘In My City’ which became a big hit in the music circles, PC’s role as Alex Parish in Quantico not only garnered a lot of appreciation but also made her the only actress in South Asia to get the ‘People’s Choice Award’. Come February 28, and PeeCee will become the first Indian to present an Oscar in the history of Academy Awards. In her 15-year-long career, the former ‘Miss World’ has proved with her talent and hard work that no dream is too small.

The actress was showered with congratulatory messages on Twitter from her fans, colleagues from Bollywood and critics since the Oscar announcement. While, film critic Rajeev Masand said “Super news! @priyankachopra will present at the Oscars this year. This girl is on a roll!, Director Kunal Kohli went on to add “wow !!!! Next step winning one”. Music composer Vishal Dadlani said, “You absolute champion!!! So proud that you're presenting at the Oscars! Killin' it worldwide, Kashibai from Quantico!”. Devansh Patel even compaed her with Meryl saying, “This means there'll be 2 Meryl's at the Oscars. Yippee! Proud is an understatement”. Stand-up comic Vir Das too sent his love by saying; “You're a rockstar who is making us all proud. Keep soaring!”

No doubt, our ‘desi’ girl is on a roll but she has only her hard work to thank for as she rightly tweeted, “I feel blessed. Guess all the no sleep and cross continent back n forth is paying off…” Well, the only big question that haunts PC right now is which dress to wear at the Oscars.
