Jacqueline Fernandez takes us back to the 90's with this video
If you are from the 90’s you will definitely be humming into Spice Girls’ 1996 pop anthem “Wannabe”, that has taken the internet by storm once again since 5th July, 2016.Well, this time the song is even more special since it was recreated to empower and encourage women by United Nations.
The UN’s Global Goal Campaign #WhatIReallyReallyWant video features our very own Bollywood diva Jacqueline Fernandez who is spotted dancing on the streets of India in the beginning of the song. Along with Jacqueline the video also features other international stars like Seyi Shay, Gigi Lamayne, Moneoa etc.
The movement aims to end violence against women and child marriage. Equal education to girl child and equal pay to women is another message that this video sends across. This isn’t the first time that Jacqueline is been a part of such a campaign. Earlier, this year Jacqueline joined ‘Habitat to Humanity’ NGO in raising funds for victims affected by a massive flood in Chennai.
The video is already going viral with 566,886 views in just two days and not to forget the real ‘Spice Girl’ ‘Posh’ who is also in support for the cause. Victoria Beckham shared the Global Goal Campaign video on all her social platforms.
When we asked Jacqueline about her response to the video this is what she had to say, “I am overwhelmed with the response the song is receiving. Its great feeling and I am truly humbled. I am a huge advocate for empowering girls and women, and I want to support my peers and others around the world to help create an international community where women feel secure, strong and supported. The world needs a dose of girl power and that’s why I ‘m supporting the Global Goals campaign for girls and women.”
On this note we say more power to all the girls around the world and also to all the artist who were a part of this empowering video.
