Nepalese-American designer Prabal Gurung had the most spectacular opening this year at the NewYork Fashion Week. Prabal has always been very active in helping his country of origin Nepal but the recent tragic earthquake in Nepal was one of the incidents which moved him utterly. After providing funds to the affected people in Nepal through fashion, Prabal took a step further this season for his Spring/Summer 2016 collection as he drew inspiration from his childhood days in Nepal.

Gurung, opened his show at Skylight Moynihan with 24 monks chanting in traditional orange attire in memory of the earthquake affected people in Nepal. It was a star-studded front row for the designer as Solange Knowles, Kylie Jenner, Jennifer Hudson and many more made it to his show which stands very close to his heart
