Designer Tarun Tahiliani and Amit Aggarwal ‘s grand finale at AIFW’17

You may not know but designer Tarun Tahiliani and Amit Aggarwal have once worked together and after years they finally shared the same stage at the Amazon India Fashion Week autumn/winter 2017 in Delhi.

A power-packed grand finale by two couturiers was a perfect end to the fashion extravaganza. True to his belief Amit Aggarwal continued his journey of recycling and up cycling through his work. Using pre-owned patola sarees and benaras brocades Amit, created his A/W’17 line. “This collection draws out rich heritage crafts to blend into our eclectic present",explains the designer.

Inspired by the beauty of Indian tribes,Tarun presented a collection which also drew inspiration from mugal-armory art.Combining sensuous occasion wear with dramatic-flare  he presented a fresh new look at the grand finale. “This is also a fusion of ideas as I show alongside one of my old protégés who has morphed into his own mastery over his own particular techniques and sculptural fashion. Not a jugalbandhi but derived from the same sources, while the rivers of creativity flowed down different valleys-eventually it all ends in the sea, from the great deep to the great deep it goes. So, how along the way is the transformation back, and this ‘Fresh New Look’ from a fountain that leapt into its own universe”,says Tarun Tahiliani on closing the show alongside Amit Aggarwal.
