Exclusive: Falguni & Shane Peacock on how to avoid becoming a “Bride-Zilla”
“Don’t become a “Bride-Zilla” because most of the brides do become by the end of the day”, say India’s most celebrated designer duo Falguni & Shane Peacock.
The latest spring/summer “Runaway Bride” collection from Falguni & Shane Peacock have their trademark edgy element in their garments.
Communicating the whole new idea of less is more in their bridal collection the designer duo made sure to make brides feel like a princess on their big day in their latest “Runaway Bride” collection. “This time we worked on a various colour palettes like yellows and blues. We’ve done little bit of beiges, peaches and dark deep shades also. So we’ve just played with every colour possible right now,” explains Peacock. Bridal wear has taken a huge turn from the usual traditional sarees and lehengas which was the very reason for the designer duo to create something which is edgy and modern. “We’ve done corsets, gowns, crop tops and so on for our “Runaway Bride” collection. The whole look of bridal wear is changing from the typical lehengas to more modern looking, edgy clothes so we worked around that say’s, Falguni.
Wedding season is just around the corner so it was obvious for us to ask the designer on tips for the brides-to-be and these words from them is something you should clearly take note of, “I just think that you should plan it all well. You should look different for every occasion. Choose different garments for every function. I also think the key to looking gorgeous is to relax and not take any stress. Don’t become a ‘Bride-Zilla’, because most of the brides by the end of it really become. On another note I have brides who actually do so much of paper work and research before they come to us. They exactly know which designer they want to wear for which occasion. Which is fantastic”, says Peacock.
If these tips ain’t enough to prepare you for your big day then hear what the designer has to say about the bridal make-up, “When you overdo your make-up you don’t look like yourself. You need to make sure that you do a trial of make-up so you know your skin tone because these pictures stay with you for life and you can’t go wrong in it.” We can’t agree more because most of the brides lose their identity while overdoing it.
