Exclusive! How Parineeti Chopra achieved her fit body
We caught up with the actress about her weight loss and her most talked about recent ‘Built that Way’ photo shoot.
From being called a chubby girl to seeing this drastic transformation for her recent ‘Built That Way’ photo shoot, Actress Parineeti Chopra has become an inspiration to many young girls out there who may be going through same weight issue problems like the actress did a year ago. We caught up with the actress about her weight loss and her most talked about recent ‘Built that Way’ photo shoot.
What inspired you to lose weight and take fitness seriously?
I think I inspired myself. I always wanted to look fit. I always had issues with my weight even before I became an actor. I was always troubled so I wanted to make this change myself. It’s just that I was lucky enough to get some time to myself and my body. So, I think I was an inspiration to myself.
How do you feel after this transformation?
Well, it’s still work in progress. I hope in a few months I look better and better. But as of now of course I feel more confident. I was always worried about what clothes I should wear and I never use to have access to best clothes, but now thankfully I see that change. I feel more lighter and more engergetic. Fitness does bring in a lot of changes.
What form of exercises did you do to get here?
Initially I started with Kalaripayattu which is a Kerala martial arts form. It was something new to me and also it wasn’t as stagnant as the gym. I wanted to start with something light which would last long. So I started with Kalaripayattu. On the days when I am really bored I just go to the gym or swim. So, mostly I have kept it for martial arts.
What sort of food habits did u follow?
Nothing in particular. I just make sure that whatever meal I choose to eat is healthy. I use to have a lot of unhealthy meals. Now I make sure whenever I put something in my mouth it’s healthy. So I do that and I think that amount of discipline is enough. I actually make a chart which I follow every single day so that the meals don’t get boring.
Would you like to share any sort of advice with our readers who are trying to lose weight? Also you look super confident in all your pictures from your ‘Built That way’ photoshoot. Tell us about your experience?
Thankyou!! Actually that’s the reason I did the photoshoot. Honestly, without sounding philosophical or cliché I genuinely did it to inspire people. I had always seen an unfit body. So when I actually started seeing the result myself I thought people need to know that they can do it. Other youngsters who feel that they can’t lose weight should look at my pictures and be like, “My god!If she can do it then we can do it”. Thankfully the response has been like that. People have been calling and saying, “My god…you’ve really inspired us to go to the gym everyday”.
About campaign itself I wanted to do a photoshoot which would bring out the kind of mental state I am in right now. I am much more confident about my body. And I think I have a strong side in me I guess which I had never shown. I just wanted to combine all this and do a sporty photoshoot. Since, I didn’t want to do a cliché shoot. I am so glad people have understood the intention behind it and lot of people are inspired. This is exactly what I wanted.
