Why colour 'black' is a big deal at Globes redcarpet this year
The awards season is in full swing, and while most of your eyes will be on the upcoming Golden Globes redcarpet it will be interesting to see just one colour on Globes redcarpet this year.
Black will rule the redcarpet at Globes, to show support for the mission of anti-sexual harassment group ‘Time’s Up’ which is spearheaded by Reese Witherspoon and more from the industry. According to a leading publication in America, “The group has created a legal defense fund to subsidize support for men and women across all industries, who have been victims of sexual harassment”.
Speaking on the initiative, top stylist Karla Welch was quoted, “Its bigger than a best-dressed list”. All black dressing initiative at Globes, is also supported by industry’s top directors and producers like Ava DuVernay and Kathleen Kennedy. Every year Globes puts across a social message and this year is no different. It will be interesting to see the variety of black dresses and gowns on the Globes redcarpet this year.
