From peek-a-boo penis show to slogans: Paris Fashion Week
There was a strong message behind creating a garment this time at the Menswear Fashion Week in Paris. From peek-a-boo penis show to slogans written in reference to the recent Paris attack, the 2015 Paris Fashion Week was all about creating social awareness.
Designer Rick Owen who isn't afraid of dealing with sex as a subject matter went bold for his 2015 menswear collection in Paris. The male models on his show walked the runway in loose wrapped tunics flashing their private parts beneath.Picking sex as an inspiration is not new for Owen.
Moving ahead,Belgian designer Walter van Beirendonck took the recent Paris attack as an inspiration. Sending across a strong and serious message through his menswear collection, the show opened with one of his model wearing a PVC shirt which had "Stop Terrorizing Our World" written on it.
Taking some serious issue as an inspiration is always very interesting but will we witness a full-frontal fashion statement on the streets too like seen on designer Owen's runway collection??
