Raf simons exits Dior
Last week the news broke out that Raf Simons will be exiting Christian Dior after serving the label for three and half years as the creative director of the womens wear collection. The Belgian fashion designer who launched his own menswear label way back in 1995 and then served Dior for few years said in a statement, “It is a decision based entirely and equally on my desire to focus on other interests in my life, including my own brand, and passions that drive me outside work”.
Earlier this year we had Peter Dundas exiting Emilio Pucci followed by Frida Gianni and Patrizio di Marco exiting Gucci. Donna Karan too stepped down from LVMH, after 30 years which came as a huge surprise to everyone. After working with Balenciaga for three years, Alexander Wang is another designer who stepped down as a creative director after showcasing his final Spring/Summer 2016 line. With everyone trying to focus more on their label looks like the tenure of the creative directors will soon be very short. On another note we can’t wait to hear who will take over the position this time at the Dior house.
