Karl Lagerfeld dies at 85 in Paris

The world is unhinged right now as one of the most prolific fashion figures of the 21st century, iconic Creative Director of Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld (85), passes away in Paris today. The 'Kaiser' (the fashion clique often called him so) of fashion had taken to ill health for weeks and had been missing several fashion events, all leading to his demise.

Many celebrities and iconic figures took to social media expressing their deep sadness including Donatella Versace, Olivier Rousteing, Mario Testino and there are countless feeds flooding social media while you read.

The iconic superpower was best known for his creative directorship for the French fashion house Chanel, which began in 1983, reimagining the traditional tweed dresses, that the label has been best known for. He was simultaneously a Creative Director for the Italian label Fendi and has also contributed striking imagery as a fashion photographer, not to mention his unwavering contribution to his own label. His creative genius has always heralded cutting edge designs and will be engraved in gold in the history of fashion.

It feels like the end of an era and while the world will still continue to revolve, it's left wondering - who'll be the successor to Karl's extraordinary legacy?
